hi friends, family & strangers who stumbled their way here through the search engines. it is true - i am running 13 miles. my race is on May 8 - the One America 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. this is my second year signing up, but i have yet to complete (or start for that matter) those thirteen point one miles. in january 2009 my friend Mal, who works for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society finally convinced me i could do it. (she's not only checked a half- off her list, she's now training for a tri-.) about midway through my training my left foot gave out and i never got to run the Mini. before i started training i would have told you how much i hated to run. mostly because i choose to hate things i am not good at. [except singing. i disregard my level of awfulness.] but here's the deal - i loved it. i felt stinkin' great to tell the truth. so here i am again. i'm not participating in the [awesome] Team in Training program this year, but i am finally going to prove to myself that i can do this.
do you hear that left foot?
